  • Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto (approx. 2.5 hours))

March 20, 2024 (Wednesday) Kurama Day 1 – Day 6
Privately Guided Day by Public Transportation

  • Take taxi to Demachiyanagi station, then Eizan line train to Kurama station
  • Lunch at Soba Noodle shop on steps of Kurama (included)
  • 1 pm Participants are encouraged to climb Kurama
  • Meet at the steps of the mountain at 5:30 pm for departure
  • Open Evening for you to explore restaurants, bars, karaoke, and other activities around Kyoto (self-pay). Our guide will be glad to help you make your plans for the evening if you ask her during the day.

March 21, 2024 (Thursday) Kurama Day 2  – Day 7
Privately Guided Day by Public Transportation

  • 10:15 am Hyakuten Inamoto starts Kurama Guided Day
  • Bento boxes from local restaurant for lunch (included)
  • Optional blessing ceremony at the temple (self-pay)
  • Meet at the steps of the mountain at 5:30 pm for departure

March 23, 2024 (Saturday) Kurama Day 3  – Day 9
Privately Guided Day by Public Transportation

  • Breakfast in the hotel (included)
  • Participants buy their own lunches at Demachiayanagi
  • Climb the mountain and descend to Kibune
  • Guided meditation at Osugi Gongen or Okunoin
  • Early dinner over the river in Kibune if restaurants are open (self-pay)
  • Open Evening in Kyoto to explore bars, karaoke, and other activities, and dinner on your own (if not in Kibune)

The Enryakuji Temple and Amida-do on Mt. Hiei, Kyoto, Japan

March 24, 2024 (Sunday) The Temples of Mt. Hiei and Lake Biwa – Day 10
Privately Guided Day by Public Transportation

  • Breakfast in the hotel (included)
  • Take the cable car to Mt. Hiei from Yase Hieizanguchi Station
  • Visit Enryakuji
  • Walk around the temple town of Mt. Hiei, with a view of Lake Biwa
  • Return to Kyoto
  • Dinner as a group at a local restaurant (included)

March 25, 2024 (Monday) Western Kyoto Arashiyama – Day 11

  • Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple (with 1,200 cute moss-covered Buddha statues)
  • Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, the famed path lined with bamboo on both sides
  • Tenryuji Temple (famous for its scenic garden and pond)
  • Enjoy lunch at Tenryuji (subject to availability)
  • Transfer back to Downtown Kyoto

March 26, 2024 (Sunday) Sayonara – Day 10
Departure
